Cee watches Friday Night Blab! X A blog announcement

Ever wonder what I've been doing during friday nights? NO I DON'T GO TO CLUBS AND PARTY MY BUTT OFF. I don't really go to these bars and clubs. I don't have the money to spend there and I am not interested in getting drunk and all. lol

So anyway, during friday nights (late friday nights to be exact) I watch Tempest Films' Friday Night Blab from 10PM to 1PM. It's a livestream show that focuses on cosplay events and conventions, cosplay talk and issues, and even blind items.

I have been watching the show since episode two. Talking to the hosts and engaging in conversations with them thru the chatbox is really the fun part of it. You get the chance to share your opinions about the current topic that they are talking about.

The show's last episode debuts the new option in interacting: Skype video calls. Viewers can now express their thoughts live AND get to ask questions to the hosts and send out messages to the other viewers. Pretty amazing, huh?

I did try this feature and I got the chance to interact with the hosts and guests that I really like.

Skip to 01:28:56 - 01:36:55 to view my call. :)

Forgive my call. I did not prepare any question and all so I literally mumbled and froze for a second or two oh well. LOL. At least I had fun. And the hosts were really nice to me despite the fact that I was not able to interact that well during the video call. :)

Some announcements,
I am going to start doing video blogs! (after so many ages preparing. LOL) I now have a tripod which would really help me while I take my videos (better alternative than the books I have). I am still planning on what to film but I have been thinking of making a FAQs video about my blog, cosplay and being an otaku. I hope I can start preparing very soon. ^^.

Do you have any questions that I can answer on my upcoming VLog? Comment below and I might include it in my list.

Beauty Bloggers Headquarters: November's Task

Beauty Blogger Headquarters

Beauty Bloggers Headquarters is like a groupie for beauty bloggers all over the world. It's a nice way to meet new friends who are on the same field as I am.

I know that Cee's Wonderland is a cosplay blog but I do write about cosplay makeup. It's kind of a big thing when you are portraying a character. I mean, you can't just wear the costume, you have to look like the character. :)

Anyway, the groupie has some kind of task every month. This month's task is entitled: "In the Beginning".

How I began blogging.

How long have you been blogging?
  • I started blogging back when I was in my last year in high school (I'm in my last year in college so that's about 4 years). Our computer teacher introduced us to blogging, taught us how to start and what to blog. It was a good experience but I was not really into it back then. We did not have Internet connection yet so I was not an avid blogger during those days. But I kept a blog and it's still standing as of today. But it is a bit disorganized and with no main topic or recent post. I just can't seem to take it down just yet.
What/who inspired you to start blogging?
  • The person who really brought me back to blogging is another blogger and cosplayer, Jin Joson. She inspired me not just to start blogging again, but also start a new hobby: cosplaying. She blogged about the joy of being with friends while cosplaying. Her posts about their adventures during conventions and photoshoots made me laugh. Her words have driven me to start writing about my adventures too, cosplaying, being with friends and the like. Maybe my adventures, my post and all can inspire others too, like what Jin did to me.
Did you tell your family and friends about your blog? If so, what was their reaction? Are they supportive or "in the dark" about your blogging?
  • My family, especially my mom knows about m blogging. And she's not really supportive or against it in any way. I feel like she does not see the importance of keeping an online journal. And I don't see a problem in that. Some of my friends read my blog, and I am quite happy about that. At least not only online acquaintances knows about my adventures, which is nice.
What goals or dreams did you have for your blog when you started? Have you accomplished them?
  • I have not actually thought about any goals when I started blogging. I just wanted to write about my adventures as a cosplayer, enjoy the features of blogging that social networking sites lack, connecting to other people with the same interests. But as I get to know more about blogging, I dreamed of turning my blog into a how-to site that can help other cosplayers start and get through their cosplay project. I am yet to start realizing that dream, and if Ill have a lot of time, I'll start doing more tutorials and how-to's, and maybe answer some FAQs along the way.
If you could give your beginner-blogger-self one tip of advice, what would it be?
  • Start blogging and don't stop! I know thinking of a topic to write and what to write is somewhat the hardest part in blogging. But if you start a new post and a few sentences, I know the ideas won't stop coming until you realize that you've finished the post.
What is your favorite and least favorite thing about being a blogger?
  • My favorite part is that I get to meet other people with the same interest. Because of blogging, I found a group of bloggers based in my hometown that taught me a lot of things. Thanks to them, I took my blog to the next level, and it's coming out very nicely. The least favorite part is that blogging takes a lot of my time. I try very hard to write something new everyday and that's difficult  considering that I am a graduating this year and juggling between requirements, school work and blogging is hard. But I am managing it. So far, so good.
What does your blog name mean? How did you decide on it?
  • I am a big fan of Disney's Alice in Wonderland - both animated film and Tim Burton's version. I consider the cosplaying world as Wonderland, and I am like Alice exploring the amazing and fantastic place.

Phew! I did not expect that it will end up a long post. LOL. Anyway, thank you for reading and come back soon!

Makeup Post: Pink All The Way

Here's my first try on doing a real makeup post. I know that I am still a novice when it comes to real makeup but how can I learn if I won't start doing it, right?

So I tried rummaging my makeup collection and tried on a Luka Megurine-inspired makeup.

cee culanculan makeup luka megurine yourstrulycee cee's wonderand blog

I used BB cream, make-up base foundation, pressed powder, two tones of pink eyeshadow, dip liner, brown and pink blush and a matte lip cream.

This photo made me realize that I do have really short lashes!
I think I still need to work out on the eyes - the eyeshadow, liner and mascara. Maybe I'll apply fake lashes next time.

I better improve next time. I'll buy a pink wig and redo it all over again. this time I'll darken everything a bit, emphasizing on the eyes. Been wanting to cosplay Luka Megurine for a while now. I am really into cosplaying couples, I don't know why. (ie: Ichigo and Rukia, Kyon and Haruhi.. maybe Gakupo and Luka next time?)

Cosplay Plans (?): Really Awesome Game Characters

That really ambitious moment when I look up to really gorgeous goddesses and wanting to be just like them. *cough cough

I know I am just your ordinary geek trying to appreciate the world of otaku-ness by cosplaying but sometimes my ambitions get really high, so high that I sometimes dream of cosplaying these lovely game characters that I have known since I started playing the games to which they belong.

Ermmm, still these ambitions are sometimes good for me, in a way that it these cosplans give me inspiration to change for the better not only to successfully portray the characters that I want to cosplay but also for my not-so-good health and lifestyle.

One VERY good example is achieving a suitable figure for these drop-dead gorgeous characters.

Enough introductions. Let's start!

So anyway, this brother of mine got a whole new computer set and made me try a new game he recently acquired: Street Fighter X Tekken

Manliness aside, I do have a weak point for females with pink hair. I've been in love with a few fictional characters who possess these gorgeous locks dyed in heavenly girly color (Luka Megurine of Vocaloid, Shirahoshi-hime and Perona of One Piece...etc). So yeah, with that... I instantly chose the character that caught my eye: Poison.

Poison is one smexy lady in the game. Her hair is pink in color, wearing bra-like white shirt, very short denim pants, with chains and cuffs for accessories. She wears a headgear similar to a police cap, decorated with a long chain. She uses her whip while doing her fighting skills and combos.

See that? Durrr. I need super powers and a hella driving force to achieve that appearance. It's a challenge that I wanna take!

The next is a pair of lovely characters from one of the first games that I tried playing: Ragnarok Online.

Guillotine Cross - Ragnarok Online

Sura - Ragnarok Online

Like I said. DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. I love the details on the characters' appearance especially their costumes. I do have a Guillotine Cross character and I am still leveling it up til now. I got a bit busy with other things that's why I am a little behind on the game.

As for the Suras, well if they are handled by skilled players, they can really be a big pain in the neck for weak players like me. I can't seem to get back at them after some random Sura kills me while I'm using the Kafra and all. That's why these characters are a big part of my gaming life, urging me to find ways on how to defend my characters against Suras and finding ways on how to make my characters stronger.

So that's about it! Maybe I need to go on a major lifestyle change, diet and exercise before I do these characters. I don't wanna rush everything and show up in a convention or cosplay event with a half-baked cosplay and a big belly. Haha!

Having trouble with my next cosplay.

It's been a while since my last real cosplay (it was Lelouch Lamperouge of Code Geass) and now I am planning my next big cosplay: Lelouch vi Britannia, 99th Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire.

I've started completing this costume little by little. To this date, I now have the Geass contact lens (because in the final episodes of the second season of Code Geass, both eyes of Lelouch can now cast a geass) and the styled Lelouch wig. Now I only need a seamstress to make the costume and hat and someone who can make the shoes.

Here comes the problem:

  • I've been having trouble as to the seamstress that can make this complicated costume. The online cosplay shop that I found that can make this costume is now on hiatus and will be back by January next year. So if I will order from them, I won't be able to cosplay this character til February or March.
  • I am still not confident on having a local seamstress make this costume for fear that the details on the finished work won't be as accurate as it is on the photo.
  • I am still hesitating on ordering from international online shops because I don't have any idea on the quality of costumes these shops produce.

Anyway, I posted a "looking for" ad on an online cosplay group based in the Philippines, hoping that somebody will reply and suggest a legit shop that can make this costume. Been wanting to be Emperor Lelouch ever since I won an award as Lelouch in an Ashford Academy uniform some months ago.

If you know any shop that can make this costume, please do comment below! If the transaction came out good, I might feature them here and get a space on my "Sponsors and Advertisment" corner on the right side of the blog for free.

Haruhi and Kyon - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu Shoot

This is my most favorite cosplay photoset of all. I love how the colors came out in the photos. And the cosplayers were just so in character and also cooperative during the entire shoot. They were following my instructions well on how to pose and act out during I take the photos.

The concept of this shoot was inspired by the second episode of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (EP 01). This was when Haruhi and Kyon first met.

Try watching this video before viewing the photos. :)

I liked how Kyon tried to interact Haruhi during the first few parts of the episode. He was trying to make friends with the pretty but mysterious girl sitting behind him but this girl, Haruhi, cuts him off and tells him not to talk to her since he is not something extraordinary (like and alien or a time traveler or an ESPer).
Anyway, here are the photos from the shoot:

Anime Movie Review: Spirited Away

Hi there! So I have been in hiatus for quite a few days because of school work and enrollment and procrastination that got the better of me most of the time I want to write. LOL

So anyway, let's take a break from all of that hime "gyaru-ness" and take a moment to breath in an anime movie that I have been recently addicted to.

Spirited Away is a 2001 movie by Studio Ghibli, an animation studio based in Japan that also brought us anime movies like Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro and many more Japanese animated movies popular to a lot of old-school kids especially to otakus like me. It is about a girl who was trapped in the spirit world with her transformed parents, looking for a way to turn her parents human again and go back to the human world.

Spirited Away Trailer from YouTube

The movie is about two hours long but what made me watch the entire film is the interesting character of the main protagonist, Chihiro/Sen. She was this crybaby at the start, who matured a lot throughout the entire film. The intriguing issue of who shall Chihiro trust during her stay in the spirit world also made me not grab the remote and turn off the television. The confusing world of the spirits fascinated me, the spirit world has a lot of gods and spirits that looked very unique (and very funny! Look out for my favorite next to Haku, the Radish Spirit!)

What I really liked about the movie is that it did not focus on pre-teen love, like most girls at Chihiro's age are focused on. It had a hint of love (Chihiro and Haku) but it did not use romantic actions i.e. kissing and the like which made Chihiro more of a character that girls can look up to. She became brave and strong for herself and her parents during her stay in the spirit world.

Yes, I recommend you guys to watch this wonderful film (and tear up at the end, like what I did) even though you are not young that anymore. It's an unpredictable film that the young and old can enjoy watching and even connect to, especially that one brave girl named Chihiro.
