ZYLORDS - A Visual Kei Video and Photo Shoot (First Batch of Photos)

This is a not-so-recent photo shoot by our cosplay/otaku group (well, we were once part of ZANEC but all of us dropped out of it almost at the same time).

This was a Visual Kei shoot, a style common among Japanese bands which constitute members wearing extravagant and or distinctive costumes, makeup and hairstyles.

Our version of Visual Kei inclined more on gothic-styled costumes, makeup and hairstyles. Black dominated most of our getups, with chains and studded accessories to complete the look. We had to design our costumes from scratch, since this is not a cosplay shoot - when our costumes were imitated from a character's entire physical appearance.

This was, by far, the hardest and most flamboyant shoot that I have participated. Most of our effort went into wearing and transforming ourselves into one of the most popular style or fashion in Japan. This was also our first try on video shooting. It was tiring but fun to do.

Anyway, enough talk. Here is the first batch of photos released by our shoot leader. More photos and the final set will be released very soon so watch out for it!

Crimsolympics Cosplay Competition - WMSU (Part 2)

And now, here's my report on the second part of the WMSU Palaro 2012 cosplay competition that was held last September 7, 2012. The event was the awarding night of the two-day competition. We dressed up again as our characters from the first day and did our catwalk for the last time.

Here's a photo of Jenaly before the event. I was like, "HARUHI!" and she turned around and smile for me. What a nice girl!

Before the event, we had a mini-shoot with my friends who were also contestants that day. I got mostly portrait shots of them and I will post the set soon so watch out for it!

We did not have a photographer during the first part of the event so I don't have any photo or video of our catwalk. Good thing Lucille arrived just in time for the awarding proper.

The winners of the event:

Cee won best in character portrayal and Ami Kawashima cosplayer won cosplay of the crowd.

Waa! I can't believe I actually won this award! Thank goodness for Lelouch's poses and regal aura that was really his trademark from the anime. It was a little bit easy to copy and portray during the catwalk. :D

Nouf as Utau of Shugo Chara won second place!

Nouf here changed her character from Mikuru to Utau of Shugo Chara. She won second place for her cosplay! Congratulations, Nouf!

Crimsolympics Cosplay Competition - WMSU (Part 1)

The long awaited post on that mini-event that I joined and won: CRIMSOLYMPICS COSPLAY COMPETITION during the Western Mindanao State University Palaro 2012 last September 5, 2012 . It was a fun event and I even won a special award for my portrayal of Lelouch Lamperouge.

I really had an awesome time during the event. It was fun cosplaying with my friends and meeting new ones as well.

A photo with random people. It was nice of them to ask a photo of us with them. I felt like I was the real Lelouch that time! :)

After stopping by for photos, we went straight to the open stage for the competition. We were briefed by the organizers about the flow of the program and how to win the event.

Jenaly was nice enough to mingle with us and pose for a few shots that day. She was so friendly! We got to talk to her and joke around with her a few minutes after we were introduced to each other.

Anyway, we were back onstage for the competition. I think this is the only in-character shot that we have.

Then there's the "fooling around" portion...

Get ready for a few fooling-around shots! This was taken DURING the event, when the host was still interviewing the other contestants. Okay so we did not care that there are A LOT of people looking at us while we did our "thing" on stage. LOL

I was glomped by the ladies! But no one will take me away from Elsie! :DD

We were so out-of-character and so out-of-hand!

And we got busy with other stuffs but Elsie was still game. :DD

Oh yeah. I have a harem nao. :D

So the event was taking time. The Great Lulu suggested that they should go home using Elsie's "Firebolt".

Quick Post: Cee won an award for a cosplay

Been wanting to write about this mini-cosplay competition held in my school but I think I won't be able to dedicate a lot of time for it tonight coz I got to study for a couple of long tests tomorrow. So maybe a quick blog post on that huge thing that happened to me during that competition.

This cosplay won a special award during the Crimsolympics Cosplay Competition of the WMSU PALARO 2012. A small thing if you compare it with the other awards that night but it's a big thing for me since it's one of those awards that I have received for "just having fun".
