UPCOMING EVENT: Kgath V: Hallyu Invasion

Are you ready for the fifth installment of Zamboanga's KPop Gathering? Yes you heard it right! It's the fifth year for KMONERX KGathering and I have never missed one!

#KGATH5
April 9, 2017
Sapphire Ballroom
Grand Astoria Hotel
Zamboanga City

I will still be one of the judges for this year's KCosplayer contest, and it will be a pair competition for the first time!

Of course, like last year, I brainstormed on what to wear/who to cosplay this year. I wore my hanbok for the first KGath and dressed up as Chae Kyung of Goon for the second KGath. I did a Minzy-from-falling-in-love-inspired coord for the third one (which I still haven't written a report yet. Sorry >..<) and did Queen CL from Crush for last year.

Now I have decided to do SNSD's Seohyun from their Mr. Mr. dance video:
photo from pinterest
I totally love SNSD's songs and I can't wait to do Seohyun (she's a great KDrama actress as well).
I posted a teaser shot on my twitter and it already gained a response! LOL

I can't wait to meet everyone. They already released the list of KCosplayers for that day as well! Hope to see your all of wonderful performances this Sunday!

See you there~

EVENT: ZAMBOANGA'S KPOP GATHERING: SUMMER INVASION II- Cosplay Judge

And I am back! Forgive my long hiatus! I was just figuring out things and running errands during my absence but now I am finally back with a few stories to share with you guys!

First off, I would like to post about this overdue story of my cosplay guesting at the second KGathering by the kpop fan group KMonerx that was held last April 9 at the Grand Astoria Hotel.

I was invited again to be the judge for the KPOP cosplay competition, one of the highlights of the event. And they gave me an opportunity to exhibit and sell my floral accessories from Fabric Flowers By Cee! The organizers were really kind to let me display my creations during the event.

I decided to show up as Princess Janelle of the South Korean series Princess Hours (Also known as Palace and Goong). The cosplay was not very accurate because I was only able to put together the pieces in the last minute. I made her arm warmers the night before the event. Whew it was tiring!

I really love this Korean series. I love how the main characters fell in love with each other on the last few episodes of the show: how the hard, outer shell of Crown Prince Gian was melted by the happy and bubbly aura of Janelle - and the challenges that they faced made them grow mature in the end.

Reg, Cee and Gairu
I attended the event with my girls just like last year. Sheed joined us to help tend the booth. :)

Photo area backdrop. I see my favorite groups here!

The organizers were able to book a bigger hall this time. The performers were able to dance with ease that day because of the bigger area that was provided for them.

We were able to display my creations near the entrance of the hall. I was able to bring flowers for display and some of my dolls popularized by Korean Drama series. :))

I was not able to roam around during the course of the program because I was busy tending the shop. But my friend Gail gladly took photos for me for this post. I was able to watch the amazing performances by different dance groups from afar.

The program was hosted by the KMonerx themselves.
Jhanna hosting the program.
KPop fans watching the program intently.

There were a lot more dance groups who shared their talent that day compare to last year! It was fun watching them dance with passion!

There were fun games too! I was not able to pay attention much from afar because customers were purchasing my products and asking me about the shop. >_<

My favorite game - noodle eating contest!
The Pepero Kiss contest with our very own Sheed joining in!
Athena, Gairu and Reg joined the KPop quiz contest

~ Cee as the judge for the KPop Cosplay competition! ~

It was an honor yet again to be the judge for the competition! I was joined by last year's winner, Athena to choose the winner of the contest.

Doing Princess Janelle's signature pose: the Peace Sign!
I was happy to see new faces during the contest. Glad to know that the hobby is slowly gaining popularity among the KPop fans of Zamboanga.

The performances of each of the contestants were much more complicated than last year. I saw a lot of improvement this year compare to last year's group of contestants. A good sign that they are trying hard to portray their Korean idols.
Just some of the cosplayers who joined contest. :)
After their performances and introductions, we were able to pick the winner of the contest. The prize went to A-Pink Cosplayer Eunji. Congratulations on winning!

Congratulations to the winners of the different contests and games! From my point of view, I think the crowd enjoyed the event so much! Cheers and fan girl screams were heard throughout the performances and activities. Truly the KPop community here in Zamboanga City is very active, fun loving and friendly!

KMonerx team, the organizers of the KGathering.

Thank you so much to those who dropped by and bought from my booth!

Proof that the event was successful! Everybody had fun!

Looks like Sheed liked the Pepero Kiss game!
Even the hosts are having fun during the games!

Failed attempt of a group shot. I was bringing a 50mm prime lens that time that's why the whole group didn't fit in the shot!
Yours truly with the organizers of the event. Thank you so much for having me!~
Posing with event-goers. Glad that a lot of them recognized my character!
Thank you so much for inviting me as a cosplay judge! Hope to see more KPop fans next KGathering!

MCTV 21st Anniversary Cosplay Guesting

My friends and I were invited to cosplay during MCTV's 21st anniversary celebration.
That day, I dressed up as Panty again, nurse version this time from episode 7 of Panty and Stocking and Garterbelt.

We helped in promoting the latest offer in MCTV - a free 1.5L Coke fore every 1000php payment at the MCTV office located at Veterans Ave., Zamboanga City.

This event also helped us cosplayers in promoting our hobby in Zamboanga City, as opportunities like this can spread awareness of cosplay here.

EVENT: ZAMBOANGA'S 1ST KPOP GATHERING: SUMMER INVASION - Cosplay Judge

KPop!! I know this is a bit off-topic to my blog (I mainly write about Japanese Cosplay) but the thing is, I was the judge on the event's KPop Cosplay competition so I had to write something about it.

Well, judging a cosplay competition is one of my biggest cosplay dreams and the organizers of the KGathering made it happen! I was contacted by one of the organizers, asking me to judge the KPop/Korean cosplay competition and I gladly obliged. It was a small contest but I was still very happy that they chose me to pick the winner.

Anyway, the KGathering was organized by a group of KPop lovers namely KMonerx (I hope I got the name right). The party happened on April 22, 2013 at the GRAND ASTORIA HOTEL Crystal Ballroom. Together with my friends, Reg and Gail, we joined in the fun of loving Korean Pop Music and the Korean Pop Superstars! Each of us belonged to a fandom. I am (or belong to) VIP (of BIGBANG).

Anyway, I wore a Hanbok that day. It is the traditional costume in South Korea. My mom bought the set for me when she was in Cagayan de Oro. Wearing the costume made me feel like I was a part of a Korean Joseon drama. LOL.

I watched a lot of videos about Korean culture, the Hanbok, and proper hair and makeup suitable for my look.
^_^
My girlfriends were stylish that day. :)

Thank you Sheed for showing up even just for a few minutes. :)
Anyway, here are the photos taken during the party.

With my friends Gail and Reg. More like sisters!

Met new friends during the event!

With Atheena and Amber.
With our table mates. I forgot her name. D: I have a poor memory.
With KMONERX, the organizers.
And friends from the neighboring table. :D

GAMES!
Reg joined an eating contest since she said she will join any contest that involves food.

Well, she did not win. According to her, the ramen was too spicy!

But she did win that Q&A KPOP and the 'pass-the-card-using-your-mouth' contest. with Gail. :)

Reg is the ultimate KPOP Brainiac!
Prizes from the card game. Good job, girls!

There were also dance numbers and KPop dance covers. ^_^

While watching them dance, tried eating the korean cup noodles. :D
It was really really spicy!
We looked like we were endorsing the noodles. :D

Then FINALLY! The KPop cosplay competition!! I was not able to take photos of each of them. D:

I was the only judge during the contest so the pressure is all on me.

The contest went smoothly and after their short performances, I was able to pick the three winners. :)

The 2nd and 1st runners up

Then I was the one who announced the winner. They let me say a few things about what is cosplaying.

And the winner of KPOP Gathering's First KPop Cosplay competition is Atheena for her awesome performance and costume!

Photos with the cosplayers. Everybody did their best!

Photos with some contestants. ^_ ^

Photos with other party-goers. :)
With Fads!! Another cosplayer.

I was given another cup of Korean noodles. :D

Thank you, KMONERX for organizing a wonderful event! Can't wait for the next party!! How about combining KPOP and JPOP? :)
